Frank Russell Co. To Switch Investment Mgmt. Applications To Client/Server Environment

Tacoma, Wa.-based Frank Russell Co. is migrating a number of portfolio management and other applications from their current mainframe and minicomputer hosts to a client/server environment.

At the same time, the money management firm is testing frame-relay technology on its wide area network to allow access to the applications by staff in remote offices, particularly its New York branch. The frame-relay pilot is scheduled to begin next month, using equipment provided by BT North America Inc.'s
