Instinet Launches Australian Block Cross

Global crossing network provider and agency brokerage Instinet has further fragmented the Australian equities market with the launch of its Instinet BLX Australia liquidity pool.

The new pool, which is operated by the firm’s Instinet Australia subsidiary, functions similarly to Instinet’s other BLX platforms currently operating in the US and Canada. The platform aggregates orders from buy-side and sell-side participants and into block-sized orders and executes trades at the mid-point match.
