Cisco Adds Monitoring to New Switches

Networking giant Cisco has released two additions to its Nexus 3000 series of low-latency switches targeted specifically for high-frequency traders, featuring network monitoring capabilities to manage capacity and congestion that can introduce latency,.

The 16-port Nexus 3016 and 48-port 3048 switches are optimized for 40 Gigabit-per-second (Gbps) Ethernet and 1 Gbps Ethernet environments, respectively. Cisco launched its Nexus 3000 family in April with the Nexus 3064, optimized for a 10 Gbps
