Telx Preps New NYC Datacenter

telx-nyc3

Datacenter and hosting provider Telx is to open a new datacenter on the 10th floor of 32 Sixth Avenue in New York, which will initially provide 72,000 square feet of hosting space, though the vendor has signed a deal with the building's owners, The Rudin Family, to allow it to expand to other floors of the building in future. In addition, the deal sees Telx become the operator of the building's "meet-me" room -- known as The Hub -- that aggregates voice, data and wireless service providers.

With the new datacenter, dubbed NYC3, Telx now has three facilities within New York City and six in the New York/New Jersey metro area, totaling more than 550,000 square feet. NYC3 will provide connectivity to Telx's NYC1 datacenter at 60 Hudson Street and NYC2 at 111 Eighth Avenue, as well as its newly-completed facility in Clifton, NJ, and also offers line-of-sight capabilities for microwave data transmission.
