London-based Thorton Asset Management is beta-testing Open Front Office, a native Microsoft Windows-based asset management workstation software system developed by Surrey, UK-based DST International Ltd. The product--set for general release in September--serves as the front-end to DST's Hiportfolio asset management system, which is already in place at Thorton.
With $2.5 billion under management, Thorton has about 200 employees in offices in London and Hong Kong. It manages pension funds, offshore
