Canadian Manager Licenses Portia To Replace Non-Y2K Compliant System

WINNIPEG, Manitoba-- Loring Ward Investment Council, with approximately C$3.5 billion ($2.3 billion) in assets under management is installing Thomson Investment Software's Portia portfolio management system and Open Trader trade order management system.

The company valued the license for the TIS products from C$500,000 ($334,000) to C$750,000 ($500,000).

By the end of April, Loring Ward plans to begin installing Portia on 50 400 Mhz Compaq Deskpro PCs with 64 Mbytes of memory using the Windows NT
