Solly Bows Salomon Analytics: Affiliate Vendor Will Sell Firm's Yield Book Software

Salomon Brothers has created a new software-vending unit, Salomon Analytics Inc., to market Salomon Yield Book, the proprietary fixed-income analytic system which the firm has been giving away free to its buy-side customers for years. Beginning next month, Salomon Analytics will develop and sell the workstation-based Yield Book software, and its related database, on what it describes as "arms-length commercial terms" to both new and existing Salomon clients on both the buy and sell sides
