Marc Sternfeld's made some pretty influential decisions over the years. In 1989, while managing director of IT at Salomon Brothers, he put Tibco on the map--Salomon was one of the first large financial institutions to install its TIB data distribution system.
At about the same time he tapped Sybase to store Salomon's mortgage-backed data, which helped establish it as the database vendor of choice on Wall Street.
Most recently, Sternfeld's been in charge of building the technology and operations
