Switching Error Leads to NYSE, NYSE Amex 'Self-Help'

The switching error resulted in traders experiencing delayed quotes for a number of issues listed on the respective markets. NYSE and NYSE Amex markets began experiencing sporadic issues in symbols beginning in letters K through R at 1:05 p.m. local time. According to a NYSE Euronext spokesperson, there was a processing issue that caused irregular delays in the updating of some of the quotes.
