Korea Gains First ATS

Set to go live April 7, the new ATS is a neutral platform available to institutional investors for the anonymous trading of Korean equities, say officials from Instinet, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nomura Holdings.

"This is the first crossing network of its kind in Korea, and will allow both Korean domestic and overseas institutional investors to execute block trades of Korean securities at the volume-weighted average price (VWAP) with little or no market impact," says Yeong-Keun Joo, director
