Network Problems Halt Order Entry on NYSE, NYSE Amex

"There was a network issue that caused four servers to disconnect from the network, which prevented some orders on the NYSE and NYSE Amex markets not to be executed," explains a NYSE Euronext spokesperson.

At 9:33 a.m. local time the exchange operator posted a systems status message stating that some customers were experiencing delays in order entries and acknowledgements. NYSE Euronext IT staff worked to bring the four matching engines back online. As part of the process, the exchange operator
