OMX, Egyptian Exchanges to Partner

STOCKHOLM—The Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchanges (CASE) and Nordic exchanges operator OMX are partnering to offer IT services to the financial markets in Egypt, other parts of Africa, and the Middle East, according to CASE and OMX officials.

Both CASE and OMX officials signed a letter of intent last week to create a joint venture. A finalized agreement is expected for the end of Q1 2006. The new company would be based on the Egypt for Information Dissemination (EGID), currently a subsidiary of
