CME Pushes Back Datacenter Construction

"We've completed a thorough review of our 2009 capital expenses," says Craig Donahue, CEO of CME Group, who spoke during the firm's first quarter earnings call. Donahue says CME Group will be issuing a reduction in its original guidance for capital expenses for 2009 down to between $160 million and $180 million.

The majority of the capital expenses during the first quarter were driven by datacenters, software and facilities costs, according to CME officials.
