U.S. Adds Seventh Options Market

The fully electronic equity and index options market received regulator approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in early March and became an Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) participant exchange last week, according to exchange officials (DWT, March 17).

The exchange traded approximately 6,000 contracts on its first day, which was more than excepted by Nasdaq, and did not suffer any technical glitches, says Adam Nunes, vice president and head of the Nasdaq Options Market
