NYSE Euronext Readies CMS Replacement

"Ultimately the goal is that all of our exchanges will be running the common customer gateway, allowing customers in any geography to access any of our products," says Larry Leibowitz, executive vice president and co-COO with NYSE Euronext.

The first exchange gateway to be replaced is the New York Stock Exchange's (NYSE's) Common Message Switch (CMS).

"We need to get rid of CMS and SuperDot for cost and latency reasons, says Leibowitz. "They are also difficult to support," he adds.
