PHLX Electronic Equity Platform Goes Live

EXCHANGE TECHNOLOGIES

NEW YORK—After almost a year of planning, the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) last week launched its fully electronic equity trading platform.

The venture, dubbed PHLX XLE, leverages the features of the PHLX XL, the exchange's options trading platform.

The existing Philadelphia Automated Communication and Execution system, with floor-based specialists, is now shut down, according to PHLX officials. The remote, open access XLE platform is now active and will be phased in over a four-week period
