Tier-one institutions have various different ways to consolidate their resources and make their internal systems look like a cloud, says William Fellows, principal analyst at research firm The 451 Group, who spoke during a recent industry event. "It mostly depends on the organizational structure that they already have and their supplier relationships-some of them are Microsoft shops, for example, so it makes a difference in what they do," he says.
