Nasdaq OMX to Finalize Clearing Deals

Part of the aim is to introduce additional clearing services into the Nordic markets later this year, according to Hans-Ole Jochumsen, executive vice president of Nasdaq OMX. "We're in the process of finalizing the agreements with the clearinghouses," he adds.

Nasdaq OMX plans to introduce a central counterparty clearing (CCP) mechanism for the cash equity markets on its exchanges in the Nordic markets on Oct. 9. A CCP relationship implies that for each trade conducted, the CCP enters as a buyer
