High-frequency trading firm Wolverine Trading has taken 20 percent of the space in the RCN Metro co-location facility in Newark, N.J., operated by RCN Metro Optical Networks, a unit of RCN Corp. RCN officials say the design of the facility allows Wolverine Trading to minimize the number of cabinets it uses in the facility, ensuring low latency for its network, as well as fast trade execution and market information.
