Centralized Order Books Take Hit Under Mifid

The main challenges are around tracking which instruments are being traded where, says P.J. Di Giammarino, CEO of JWG-IT. There is "drastic" increase in competition across all asset classes and trading volumes are "heating up," he adds.

According to the JWG-IT survey, 71 percent of the respondents have implemented client management tools in the last two years but only 20 percent have centralized these globally. The survey includes 40 financial institutions across Europe.
