North American Exchanges Rein in Costs for 2009

The largest Canadian exchange will work on combining its datacenters to reach its goals of C$25 million ($21 million) in cost synergies on a run-rate basis by the fourth quarter of this year, say TMX Group officials.

To help meet that goal, the exchange is also working on combining remaining corporate support functions for the rest of the year, officials add. "The integration with the Montréal Exchange (MX) continues on schedule," says Tom Kloet, CEO of TMX Group, who spoke during a recent
