Amex Suffers Trading Outage

The cause of the halt was traced to an abnormally large number of orders coming into Amex's AEMI trading platform via its legacy common message switch gateway, says an Amex spokesperson.

"The failure occurred on our legacy system," says Bari Trontz, director, media relations with Amex. "Our AEMI platform has been fully stable," she adds.
