Linux Vendors Expand Real-Time Offerings

Novell's IT team is taking a look at aspects in the datacenter other than servers, for which it already has a real-time product, to eliminate further bottlenecks and cut even more latency, says Moiz Kohari, vice president of engineering for the open platform solutions group at Novell.

"In a datacenter, systems are networked together. So not only does a single server have to provide responsiveness, but the entire network has to provide responsiveness," Kohari explains.
