BATS Urges Bandwidth Upgrades


BATS Trading is advising clients to upgrade their connectivity to the Kansas City, Miss.-based ECN to prevent delays to its PITCH datafeed. Officals say that recent surging volumes triggered peak message rates higher than could be supported by the minimum T-1 lines that BATS recommends.

In a letter to data subscribers and prospects, BATS chief executive Dave Cummings advised firms who are "concerned about performance" to ensure their lines can support rates of 3mbps (megabits per second)—double
