Tierney Fills TF's Ceo Slot; Rowlands Gets Key Operating Position

BOSTON, MA--Thomson Financial (TF) has named Patrick Tierney president and chief executive officer to fill the slot left vacant by the surprise departure of David Flaschen two months ago (IMD, Sept. 27).
Tierney is moving from inside TF's parent company The Thomson Corp. (TTC), where he was president and CEO of Thomson's Reference, Scientific and Healthcare group. His move confirms speculation that Thomson was looking to recruit internally for the new head of one of the more profitable business
