Last week, we referred to the total cost of ownership (TCO) as an issue facing market data vendors and their customers. A subscriber promptly called and asked for a definition of total cost of ownership. We glibly said it’s the total monthly cost of owning a terminal or user access ID. Not good enough, said she. What else is involved in determining total cost?
