Graphical Research War Heats Up For First Call, Multex

Late in March, Multex Systems Inc. announced that it had begun beta tests of its Multex Publisher graphical research distribution network; two weeks later, Thomson Financial Services Inc.'s First Call Corp. did likewise for its Research Direct, a similar product. And so it goes.

The graphical research distribution system race has heated up of late. While Multex's announcements have thus far come first -- and First Call's have followed -- that doesn't mean much. For Multex is clearly the underdog
