Hong Kong Exchange Looks to Scripless Future

HONG KONG—Hong Kong Exchange (HKEx) officials revealed recently that the development of electronic links between the exchange's Central Clearing and Settlement System (CCASS) and share registrar's systems will play a crucial role in the development of a "scripless" securities market in Hong Kong.

The links, which would enable electronic deposits and withdrawals of uncertified shares into and from CCASS, would be an essential part of a market without scrips, or tickets, according to Stewart Shing
