The Colombo Stock Exchange of Sri Lanka, is ready to write a new chapter in its 100-plus year history by taking trading off the exchange floor this week.

Exchange officials, and development partners Tibco Finance and Millenium Information Technology, claim they are creating one of the first truly event-driven stock exchanges in the world. The company has invested about US$2 million and more than a year's worth of effort in designing and building a new, electronic exchange system that goes live
