BofA Launches Global Grid Project

LONDON—Bank of America (BofA) has embarked on a global grid computing project linking computer nodes across three of its key trading centers—New York, Chicago and London.

The project, started last year, is being run out of the bank's debt technology division, although other divisions are likely to join in, sources say.

Sources also say that the grid project was initiated in response to the ever-increasing computational requirements of the debt markets, which tend to be split between high volumes
