High-Performance Computing Center To Open NY Office To Promote IBM Parallel Processing

The Cornell Theory Center--a high-performance computing center headquartered at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY--will open its first satellite office later this month, in the heart of Manhattan's financial center. To be located in the New York Information Technology Center building at 55 Broad Street, it will be connected via an asynchronous transfer mode, high-speed link to Cornell Theory Center's 512-node Scalable IBM RS/6000 Powerparallel System (SP) in Ithaca.

The goal of the center will be
