Putnam Urges Full Speed Ahead On Decimalization

WASHINGTON--Gerald D. Putnam, CEO of Archipelago ECN told a US Senate sub-committee that technical innovation, linkages among securities markets and an immediate switch to decimalization of stock prices will best serve American investors. He also said that robust competition, not regulation, was the surest way to furnish investors with the best prices and best execution in equities trades.
