Instinet: Functionality Depends on INET

NEW YORK--Despite recently splitting into two distinct business lines that serve buy- and sell-side institutions, Instinet Group’s technology assets remain tightly intertwined.

The plans of Instinet’s Institutional Broker buy-side business to offer new functionality will depend upon the integration of its two primary sell-side alternative trading system (ATS) businesses, Island and Instinet, into INET, a new ATS, officials say.
