Reuters ended 1999 much as it began the year---with a reorganization that is supposed to make clear where it is going with its diverse trading room technologies, and how it will market, sell and support those products.

The start of 1999 saw the implementation of Reuters’ wide-ranging reorganization away from its traditional geographical structure to one along its business lines, which was initiated in the previous year. Reuters claimed that the new structure was reaping benefits in cost savings
