To Support Push Into New Markets, Sumitomo Finance HK Deploys Summit

In support of its planned push into more complex financial markets, Sumitomo Finance International (SFI), the bond trading subsidiary of Japan's Sumitomo Bank, has signed up for a suite of derivatives and risk-management applications from New York-based Summit Systems. The first of these--a middle-office value-at-risk (VAR) engine--is already live in London, less than three months after SFI decided on Summit. The securities house now plans to deploy the system to Hong Kong and New York, say SFI
