Swift Names IP Partners, Rejects Global Crossing

LA HULPE, BELGIUM--Swift, the industry-owned financial messaging provider, has named three providers for its secure IP network (SIPN) as part of its move to a multi-vendor IP network strategy and away from its X.25-based service (TTW, Nov. 25).

The three are Colt Telecom Group, Equant and Infonet Services Corp. Talks are still underway with a fourth provider that Swift aims to sign up before the new model is set up at the start of next year. The multi-vendor network will be in place by the end
