Bloomberg Gets Ready For Electronic Trading

NEW YORK--Bloomberg is gearing up to roll out by December an electronic trading system for US Treasuries, dubbed Bondtrader, that will provide new competition for the relatively young electronic bond trading systems already underway.

Although Bloomberg is targeting buyside customers with the Bond trader platform, sellside firms will be playing a prominent role in the new buyside-to-sellside connectivity system, says Richard Chmiel, manager of the project for Bloomberg.
