Sun Loses Linux Battles at Deutsche Bank

LONDON--Deutsche Bank ousted high-end Sun Microsystems Solaris-based hardware in favor of IBM systems running on Linux and Intel chips and lower-level Sun machines, paving the way for more Linux overhauls to come, officials confirm.
Taking aim at two specific projects--in the credit and fixed-income trading divisions--Deutsche has begun to deploy systems running the Linux operating system in areas previously devoted to proprietary hardware running Unix.
