FSA To Regulate Alternative Trading Systems

The UK's Financial Services Authority, the nation's securities industry regulator, began an investigation last month into the prospects for regulating Alternative Trading Systems. According to the Financial Times of London, Financial market watchdogs are becoming concerned about the threat of Alternative Trading Systems to traditional markets. The FSA's findings could determine how ATSs and ECNs are allowed to operate in the UK in the future.
