STC Debuts 'Datacast' Implementation Of Multicasting, Messaging & Pub/Sub

NEW YORK--Middleware vendor Software Technologies Corp. (STC) this week will be debuting Datacast, its implementation of IP multicast technology that will offer message queuing as well as publish/subscribe capabilities, say STC officials.
The announcement is interesting in light of IBM's acknowledgement that it has been developing publish/subscribe technology to complement its MQSeries messaging middleware (TTW, November 9), which could present a challenge to Tibco's dominance in this area.
