I was a little stunned by the recent news that Platform Computing, a grid software provider, introduced a bridge between grid computing and Microsoft’s ubiquitous Excel spreadsheet (TTW, Nov. 17). I was further heartened by the news last week that market data display and distribution software vendor Arcontech has released Excelerator 2, an Excel add-in that combines previous offerings for contributing and retrieving data (see story, this issue).
