Piper Jaffray Moves to Stem Outages

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.--Trading firm US Bancorp Piper Jaffray recently switched its hosting arrangement with SunGard Trading Systems (STS) from a shared to a dedicated server complex for support of its STS/Brass order management system (OMS), partly to stem network outages caused by rising trading volumes.

The firm is also looking to add more STS services in the pursuit of greater trading efficiency, an official says.
