GAO Cites LAX Security For Trading Systems

THIS WEEK'S LEAD STORIES

The General Accounting Office has called for greater security in trading and funds transfer systems and for greater computer security oversight from the Securities and Exchange Commission and other regulators. The GAO testimony came last week before the House Subcommittee on Energy and Commerce. The committee, chaired by Representative Edward Markey, is working on a market reform bill that would give the SEC expanded authority over securities trading (TST, Feb. 12, 1990).
