Reuters Carries Platt's Global Alert, Other Distributors To Follow Soon

McGraw-Hill's Platt's and Reuters have inked a pact making Reuters the first data vendor to carry Platt's Global Alert energy information service. Other financial information vendors--specifically Bloomberg, Dow Jones Telerate and Knight-Ridder--are also waiting in the wings and likely to reach similar distribution agreements "very soon," a Platt's official says.

The deal with Reuter finally reverses Platt's long-standing policy of keeping its information--long a must-have for energy traders-
