Sybase Leverages Acquisitions to Alter Database Image

LONDON--Sybase is using its purchase of New Era of Networks, along with its spinoff company Financial Fusion, to help push itself away from its traditional image of a database supplier.
Ian Pratley, UK director of the financial services group, says, "It’s a real departure from the ‘old’ Sybase when we’d put in a database and then walk away."
Instead, Sybase is positioning itself as a full-service integration and database specialist.
