Regulators, Industry Seek Pre-Circuit Breaker Defenses
The good news for the US markets is that the market-wide circuit breakers work, according to major trading venue and investment firm executives who spoke on a panel during the Securities and Financial Markets Association (Sifma) annual meeting in Manhattan.
The bad news, however, might also be that the circuit breakers work, as detailed by US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chairperson Mary Schapiro in her remarks at the same meeting, in which she noted that trading behavior has tripped
