CFTC Rule Proposal Makes Margin Requirements More Complex
The proposed rules for initial and variation margin requirements from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will complicate collateral management, according to Kevin McPartland, senior analyst at consultancy Tabb Group.
"Dealers and large prime brokers have to look at how to limit the amount of margin on collateral that they need to post," he says, speaking at the Calypso Customer Conference May 18 in San Francisco.
