Who’s Next?
Yesterday, we published a profile of Ary Khatchikian, president and CTO of Portware. Ary is an engaging guy—and I'm not biased because we both have Armenian last names.
Ary comes from a long line of self-made business owners. There was never a doubt in his mind that he'd follow in the footsteps of his father, grandfathers and uncles and start his own business one day.
And he's been successful—Portware, a company he started along with Eric Goldberg, is going strong after more than 10 years of providing portfolio trade management solutions.
I am telling you about this because I want to hear more stories like Ary's.
At Incisive Media I have two responsibilities: Waters magazine and Buy-Side Technology. For the mag, I regularly get to write profiles of CIOs, CTOs and CEOs from both the buy side and sell side. Yet we also only focus on the actual trading firms and exchanges, and exclude vendors.
But for our website—and this includes both Buy-Side Technology and Sell-Side Technology—I'd like to hear the back stories of how the technologists from the vendor community got their starts.
So if you've got an interesting story to tell, please feel free to shoot me a line at anthony.malakian@incisivemedia.com or give me a call at 646-490-3973.
As for the news section of BST this week, there are a bevy of people moves, partnerships and product upgrades (as usual), and we also speak with StatPro about its cloud-based portfolio analysis tool, Revolution.
