Telstra Connects ASX, SGX Co-Los with Low-Latency Link

New data link is intended to promote more trading between the two market centers.

Telstra's new link creates a low-latency connection between exchange co-location centers in Singapore and Australia

Telstra officials estimate the new link will deliver roundtrip latency of 91.5 milliseconds between Sydney and Singapore.

The new route leverages Telstra's new 100 Gigabits-per-second low-latency optical link between Sydney and Perth, which vendor officials say are key entry and exit points for international data traffic.

Officials say carrying 100Gbps in a single wavelength "significantly improves the delivery and reliability of data transfers," reducing latency between Sydney and Perth by 25
