After acquisitions, Exegy looks to consolidated offering for further gains

With Vela Trading Systems and Enyx now settled under one roof, the vendor’s strategy is to be a provider across the full trade lifecycle and flex its muscles in the world of FPGAs.

Three years ago, hardware ticker plant appliance vendor Exegy made a strategic step forward. It bought Vela Trading Systems, with a plan to merge the assets of both companies under its own name. Exegy already had specialties in hardware and software, but bringing in Vela meant it could exert an even stronger grasp on the software side. And it didn’t stop there.

The following year, it bought Enyx, a Paris-based provider of FPGA (field programmable gate arrays) trading solutions. Like the Vela deal
